How to Create a Windows System Recovery Disk
1. Open the Windows 'System and Security' application. Click the Windows 'Start' button and then click 'Control Panel.' Select 'System and Security' from the Control Panel window.' The Windows 'System and Security' window will open.
2. Open the Windows 'Backup and Restore' application. Click on 'Backup and Restore' in the System and Security window. The Backup and Restore window will open.
3. Create a system recovery disk. Click the 'Create a system recovery disk' button located on the left pane of the Backup and Restore window. The 'Create a system repair disk' dialog box will prompt you to insert a blank CD or DVD into the computer's CD or DVD drive.
4. Insert a blank CD or DVD into the computer's CD or DVD drive. Click the 'Create disk' button in the 'Create a system repair disk' dialog box. Windows will begin creating the repair disk and notify you when it is complete.
5. Remove the system repair disk. Click 'OK' in the 'Create a system repair disc' dialog box when prompted by Windows that the system repair disk is complete. Remove the disk from the CD or DVD drive. Label the disk with the date created and store the disk in a safe place so it can be accessed if the system ever needs to be recovered.
