How to Change the Language to Arabic in Windows
1. Click the 'Start' menu on the computer and select 'Control Panel.' Navigate through the icons and click the icon labeled 'Regional Language Options.' The new menu has three tabs labeled 'Regional Options,' 'Languages' and 'Advanced.'
2. Click the 'Languages' tab at the top of the window. Locate the two sections under this tab labeled 'Text Services and Input Languages,' and a second section labeled 'Supplemental Language Support.' Navigate to the second section and place a check in the box next to 'Install files for complex scripts.' Click 'OK' in the warning pop-up box and click 'Apply' at the bottom of the 'Languages' tab.
3. Insert the 'Microsoft Windows XP' CD to allow the installation of the Arabic language to begin. The files will automatically install. When the process completes, press 'OK' and 'Finish.' If the disk is missing, download the Arabic language files from the Microsoft Download Center by visiting the Microsoft Download Center. (See Resources.) Click on the appropriate 'Windows Multilingual User Interface Pack' software operating system version that currently residing on the computer. Click 'Download' in the new window.
4. Click the 'Advanced' tab on the 'Regional and Language Options' window. Locate the section labeled 'Non-Unicode Programs' and click the language drop-down box. Locate the specific Arabic language needed and click on the selection. In the next section labeled 'Code page conversion tables,' place a check in the box next to '10004 (MAC - Arabic).' Place a check in the box next to 'Apply to all users' to apply the new language settings to all users on the computer. To apply the new language settings to only the current user, leave the box unchecked. Click 'Apply' at the bottom of the window to apply the changes. Restart the computer to apply the Arabic language to all programs and settings on the computer.
