Cannot Change the ATI X1950 Desktop Drivers


How to Change the ATI X1950 Drivers to a Manufacturer Version
1. Open a Web browser, such as Internet Explorer, and go to the AMD 'Graphics Drivers & Software' page.
2. Choose 'Desktop Graphics,' 'Radeon X Series' and 'Readeon X1xxx Series' from the respective 'Step 1,' 'Step 2' and 'Step 3' menus.
3. Select your Operating System and bit version from the 'Step 4' drop menu. If you are unsure of your OS and bit version, left-click on the 'start menu,' right-click on 'Computer' and select properties. The computer will bring up a window with the Windows Edition and will specify if it is 32-bit or 64-bit.
4. Click 'Display results' in the Web browser window and select the 'WDM Integrated Driver' option to download the driver and leave the 'downloads' window open.
5. Un-install the current drivers by left-clicking on the 'Start Menu,' right-clicking on 'Computer,' selecting 'properties,' left-clicking on the 'Device Manager' option in the newly-opened window and expanding the 'Display adapters' tree in the newly opened 'Device Manager' window. Right-click on the 'ATI X1950' option, select 'properties,' click on the 'Driver' tab and choose the 'Uninstall' option. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish removing the driver.
6. Open the download window from the Web browser for the driver files and double left-click on the driver installer. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the driver installation process.

7. Un-install the currently-installed drivers by left-clicking on the 'Start Menu,' right-clicking on 'Computer,' selecting 'properties,' and left-clicking on the 'Device Manager' option in the newly-opened window.
8. Expand the 'Display adapters' tree in the newly-opened 'Device Manager' window. Right-click on the 'ATI X1950' option, select 'properties,' click on the 'Driver' tab and choose the 'Uninstall' option. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish removing the driver.
9. Left-click on the 'Start Menu,' type 'Windows Update' into the Search menu, and press the 'Enter' key.
10. Choose the 'Check for Updates' option in the 'Windows Update' window.
11. Select the 'Important updates' option, check the box next to the 'ATI/AMD X1950 Driver' option and click 'OK.' Windows will install the new version of the driver.
