How to Turn Off Library Sharing in Windows 7
Disable HomeGroup Sharing
1. Click 'Start,' and then click 'Control Panel.'
2. Click 'Choose HomeGroup and sharing options' in the 'Network and Internet' section.
3. Remove the check mark from the box to the left of each library you do not wish to share.
4. Click 'Save changes.'
Disable Network Library Sharing
5. Click 'Start,' and then click 'Control Panel.'
6. Click 'Network and Internet.'
7. Click 'Network and Sharing Center.'
8. Click 'Change advanced sharing settings' from the column at the left side of the window.
9. Click 'Turn off public folder sharing' in the 'Public folder sharing' section. You can also turn off network discovery and file and printer sharing if you don't want other network users to have any access to your computer. This will affect library sharing for the 'Home and Work' network profiles, but you must also modify library sharing for the 'Public' network profile.
10. Scroll to the bottom of the window. Click the arrow to the right of 'Public.'
11. Click 'Turn off Public folder sharing' in the 'Public folder sharing' section. You can also turn off network discovery and file and printer sharing if you don't want other network users to have any access to your computer.
12. Click 'Save changes' at the bottom of the window.
