How to Defrag a Computer in Windows 7

1. Click Start | Control Panel | System and Security | Administrative Tools | Defragment Your Hard Drive. Alternatively, you can click the 'Start Orb' and type 'defrag' in the instant search field. 'Disk Defragmenter' appears in the list for you to select.
2. Click 'Analyze Disk' to check if your hard drive needs to be defragmented. Once the disk is analyzed, you are given the percentage of defragmentation.
3. Click 'Defragment disk' to defrag the hard drive in question.
4. Click 'Configure Schedule' to perform defragmentation on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
