How to Change Desktop Icon Fonts
Windows XP
1. Right-click on an empty spot on your desktop.
2. Scroll down and click 'Properties.'
3. Hit the 'Appearance' tab and then hit the 'Advanced' button.
4. Choose 'Icon' in the drop-down menu under the heading 'Item.' Select a new font with the drop-down menu below it. Change the size of the font with the 'Size' drop-down menu.
5. Hit the 'OK' button.
Windows Vista
6. Right-click on an empty spot on your desktop.
7. Scroll down and click 'Personalize.'
8. Click the 'Open classic appearance properties for more color options' link in the window that appears.
9. Hit the 'Advanced' button.
10. Choose 'Icon' in the drop-down menu under the heading 'Item.' Select a new font with the drop-down menu below it. Change the size of the font with the 'Size' drop-down menu.
11. Hit the 'OK' button.
Windows 7
12. Right-click on an empty spot on your desktop.
13. Scroll down and click 'Personalize.'
14. Hit the 'Windows Color' icon at the bottom of the window that appears.
15. Click on the 'Advanced appearance settings ...' link at the bottom of the next page.
16. Choose 'Icon' in the drop-down menu under the heading 'Item.' Select a new font with the drop-down menu below it. Change the size of the font with the 'Size' drop-down menu.
17. Hit the 'OK' button.
