How To Add Windows Search To the Taskbar In Windows 7
1. Display the Windows 7 desktop. Position the mouse cursor so that it is not over an icon. Right-click and select 'New' and 'Shortcut.' A new window titled 'Create Shortcut' appears.
2. Type '%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe search-ms:' in the text field and click 'Next.'
3. Type the name 'Windows Search' in the text field and click 'Finish.'
4. Double-click the new shortcut to test it and confirm that the Windows Search application loads.
5. Drag the shortcut to the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, and release the mouse button to pin the shortcut to the taskbar.
6. Click the new taskbar icon to open Windows Search.
