Why Did the CTMBHA.Dll Initialization Routine Fail?

Symptoms
During the start-up process, an affected computer displays the following message: 'Error loading ctmbha.dll. A dynamic link library (DLL) initiation routine failed.' This message sometimes precedes another error message, which states: 'Invalid access to memory location.'
Causes
The ctmbha.dll error can be caused by either a corrupt Sound Blaster Audigy driver package or malicious software such as a computer virus. If the Audigy sound card has been removed from your computer, you can still install the drivers if you haven't launched the uninstall process to delete them.
Solution
In order to prevent the error message from displaying during start-up, uninstall your computer's current Audigy driver and reinstall the latest drivers, which can be downloaded from Creative Technology's website. It is also advisable to perform a virus check using an anti-virus software program.
