Causes of System32 Errors
There are many factors that can cause System32 errors. Malicious software (malware) such as viruses and trojans might delete important files in the Syste32 folder. Accidentally deleting an important file inside the system32 folder might also cause problems. Hardware failures can also cause System32 errors.
Symptoms of System32 Malfunctions
System32 malfunction can cause numerous errors. When System32 is not working properly, your computer will usually display this error message: 'System32 is either Corrupt or Missing.' Inside the message, it will show you type of file inside the folder that is missing. The symptoms of System32 errors depend on the types of files that are missing. For example if the 'PCI.SYS' file is missing, you will likely experience startup problems.
Ways to Fix System32 Problems
There are many ways to fix System32 errors. If the problem is caused by hardware, identify the malfunctioning equipment and replace it. If the problem is caused by something missing in the System32 folder, use the recovery disk that comes with your computer. If you do not a recovery disk, restart your computer and press 'F8' when the BIOS screen appears. Next, select 'Boot Using Last Known Good Configurations.'
