How to Use the Webcam on a Dell Inspiron Laptop Computer

Instructions
1. Open your browser and download Dell’s integrated webcam application.
2. Run the installation once the download has completed, following the on-screen instructions.
3. Restart your computer when prompted to do so.
4. Open the program with which you want to use the webcam (e.g. Yahoo Messenger, AIM or Skype).
5. Open the program’s preferences, usually found under the 'Tools' menu.
6. Locate the “Video” settings. Most programs will have a tab labeled “Video” where you can adjust these settings.
7. Select “Dell Integrated Webcam” under the heading labeled “Select Video Device” (or something similar).
8. Establish a video chat with a contact to ensure that the webcam is working. If using a program to record your video, attempt a trial recording.
