How to Use the Fingerprint Reader on the Dell E4300
Activating the Security Chip
1. Restart the laptop.
2. Press the 'F2' key on the keyboard while the computer is still booting.
3. Open the 'Security' settings category.
4. Choose 'TPM Security.'
5. Change the TPM Security state to 'On.'
6. Press the 'Esc' key.
7. Select 'Save / Exit' and continue with the restart.
Configure the Embassy Software
8. Open the Embassy Security Center program.
9. Click on the 'Preboot Manager' tab.
10. Use the Fingerprint Enrollment Wizard to authorize your fingerprints with the software. Register at least two of your fingers.
11. Return to the 'Preboot Manager' tab.
12. Choose your passwords. Both a system and hard drive password are not required. You can choose both or just one.
13. Click on the 'Windows Login' tab.
14. Check the 'Enable Security Windows Login' box.
15. Choose the 'Biometric' option in the 'Authentication Type' drop-down.
16. Click on 'Apply.'
17. Click on the 'Preboot Manager' tab.
18. Click on 'Advanced' options.
19. Click on the 'Login' tab.
20. Check the 'Automatic logon' box.
