How to Troubleshoot a Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse

1. Push the 'connect button' on the receiver and then the 'connect' button on the bottom of your Logitech mouse. This will reset the connection between the mouse and your computer.
2. Disconnect the USB wireless receiver and plug it into a different port on the computer. If using a USB hub or extender, disconnect the receiver and connect it directly to the computer. If the mouse works on a different port, the problem is likely to be the port itself.
3. Replace the mouse batteries. Logitech mice have a battery indicator light that should glow red when your mouse batteries are low; however, it is possible this light is not working correctly.
4. Check for objects between the mouse and receiver. Obstacles, particularly metal or electronic objects, can interfere with the mouse's wireless signal.
5. Uninstall the Logitech SetPoint software that came with your mouse. Download and install the latest version for your operating system from the Logitech website.
6. Clean the optical lens on the bottom of the mouse gently using a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. Dust or grease smudges on the lens can interfere with the mouse's function.
