How to Take Permissions of a System 32 Folder
1. Sign into an Administrator account. Administrator accounts are the only accounts able to set and modify folder ownership.
2. Right-click the System 32 folder. Click 'Properties,' then the 'Security' tab when the system window pops up.
3. Click the 'Advanced' option and, when the Advanced Security Setting window pops up, click the 'Owner' tab. Click the 'Edit' option.
4. Select 'Administrators' from the list and click 'OK.' Read the dialogue box that pops up and click 'OK.'
5. Click the 'Permissions' tab and click 'Change permissions.' Click 'Add' in the window that pops up.
6. Click the 'Advanced' option in the new window. A new window will pop up once more. Click 'Find Now' and locate the user account that currently is being used. Click the account name, then click 'OK.' The window will close.
7. Click 'OK' once more and, when the 'Permission Entry for Windows' window pops up, click 'Full Control.' Click 'OK' and read the dialogue box that appears. Click 'Yes' or 'OK,' depending on which version of Windows you're using. You have now taken full control of the folder.
