How to Set Up POP3 Mail With Verizon
1. Launch Windows Live Mail, and click the blue 'Add E-mail Account' link in the bottom-left corner of the window.
2. Type your full email address, ending with '@verizon.net,' in the box labeled 'E-mail Address.' Type your password in the box below, and place a check in the box labeled 'Remember this password' if you would like Windows Live Mail to enter your login information automatically each time you check your messages. Note that the username and password are the same as the ones that you use when connecting to your Verizon DSL account.
3. Type the name that you would like others to see when receiving messages from you in the box labeled 'Display name for your sent messages.'
4. Place a check in the box labeled 'Manually configure server settings,' and then click 'Next.'
5. Click the drop-down menu under 'Server Type,' and select 'POP.'
6. Enter 'incoming.verizon.net' as your incoming (POP3) server address, and 'outgoing.verizon.net' as your outgoing (SMTP) server address.
7. Place a check in the box labeled 'Requires Authentication,' and then click 'Next.'
8. Click the 'Finish' button. Your Verizon email account is ready to use.
