How to Recover a Corrupted or Missing System File in Windows XP


1. Insert your Windows XP OS disc into your computer drive.
2. Go to 'Start' and 'Run.' The 'Run' dialog box opens.
3. Type 'sfc /sannow' in the 'Open' field and press 'Enter.' The 'System File Checker' utility opens and is scanning your computer for missing and corrupted files.
4. Click 'Repair' when scan is done.
