How to Locate the Component Winsrv

Installing the Microsoft Update
1. Go to the Microsoft Support page for winsrv (see References), and scroll down to \'Download information.\'
2. Click \'Download the 885523 package now.\'
3. Double-click the download to install the patch, then restart your computer.
Copying Winsrv.dll from another Computer
4. Click \'Start\' and then \'Run.\' Type \'cmd\' and press Return or Enter.
5. Type \'windowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe -x\' and press Return or Enter.
6. Type \'extract winsrv.dll_ winsrv.dll\' and press enter. Click \'Start\' then \'Find\' and type in \'winsrv.dll.\' Once it has located the file, right-click it and choose \'Copy.\'
7. Insert a blank floppy disk, and click \'Start\' \'Run\' and type \'A:\\\' to go to the floppy disk drive. Hold Ctrl and press V to paste the winsrv.dll file. Repeat process for \'winsrv.dll_\' as well.
8. Put the floppy disk into your faulty computer. Start up your computer in safe mode, by hitting F8 during the start-up process. Then copy the two files from the floppy disk, into the \'C:\\windows\\system32\' directory.
