How to Install an HP Deskjet 3920

1. Turn on the printer and the computer. Boot up the computer's operating system and allow it to finish all start-up procedures.
2. Connect the printer to the computer by inserting the smaller end of the USB cable into the back of the printer and the larger end into one of the computer's USB ports. If your computer is running Windows Vista or 7, close the 'Your Devices Are Ready to Use' message and then follow the installation instructions on the screen.
3. Insert the printer's installation CD if you are using an older operating system. If you do not have the installation CD, open your Web browser and go to HP's website.
4. Click on the 'Support and Drivers' link and type 'Deskjet 3920' in the search box, then press 'Enter.' Choose your computer's operating system from the list, then click on 'Download' next to the printer's full version of software and drivers.
5. Follow the instructions in the installation software, which will vary depending on your computer's operating system. Plug the USB cable into the computer and printer when the installation program directs you to do so.
