How to Get Into an ASUS Motherboard BIOS

1. Shut down the computer properly according to your operating system. In order to access your BIOS on an ASUS motherboard, you need to turn the computer off. Be sure to properly shut down your operating system to avoid damaging the installation.
2. Turn on the computer and read the POST information for BIOS instructions. The POST screen is the first or second screen you see when you turn the computer on, and it gives specific instructions for entering the BIOS or the 'Setup' on your ASUS motherboard model.
3. Press and hold the power button on the computer to turn it off again immediately after the POST screen has passed. The POST screen is generally very brief, and it frequently takes longer to read the instructions than the amount of time the POST screen is visible. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 as many times as you need to read all of the instructions.
4. Turn the computer on again and implement the instructions from the POST screen to enter the BIOS. Most ASUS motherboards use the
key to enter the BIOS, but different models may use the
key or the
key. If you make it past the POST screen but do not successfully enter the BIOS, immediately hold the power key down to turn off the computer and then repeat Step 4.
