How to Disable Microsoft Security Essentials


Disable Real-Time Protection
1. Click 'Start,' 'All Programs' and 'Microsoft Security Essentials' to open Microsoft Security Essentials.
2. Click the 'Settings' tab.
3. Click 'Real-Time Protection' in the left pane.
4. Uncheck the box next to 'Turn On Real-Time Protection (Recommended),' and click 'Save.'
5. Close 'Microsoft Security Essentials.' Microsoft Security Essentials real-time protection is now disabled.
Disable Microsoft Security Essentials
6. Click 'Start,' type 'msconfig' into the search field and press 'Enter.' The System Configuration window opens.
7. Click the 'Startup' tab.
8. Uncheck the box next to 'Microsoft Antimalware Service,' click 'Apply' and 'OK.' Microsoft Security Essentials is now disabled.
