How to Change a Startup Program in Windows

1. Open your preferred Web browser and type live.sysinternals.com/autoruns.exe to download the Autoruns utility. This utility is now considered part of Microsoft's Technet website. It allows you to change a variety of startup options.
2. Run the program from the download location. Click the 'Logon' tab to see a list of programs that start whenever you reboot or log into the system.
3. Remove the check mark from the programs you don't want to run automatically. Close Autoruns and restart the system when you're finished. To re-enable any programs, run Autoruns again and click the check box next to the program's name in the 'Logon' tab.
