How to Change Middle

1. Turn on your laptop and log in. Click the 'Start' button and click 'Internet Explorer.' If you can't find the Internet Explorer shortcut, click 'All Programs' then mouse over 'Accessories.'
2. Navigate to your laptop manufacturer's homepage, then click the 'Support' link.
3. Find your laptop model's support page, then click 'Drivers' or 'Downloads.' Look in the 'Touchpad' or 'Input Devices.' Click on the latest software package and save it to your desktop. It's probably labeled 'Synaptics' or 'Elantech.'
4. Right-click the file on your desktop and click 'extract,' then follow the prompts to unzip the file (if your download is an EXE file, and not a ZIP file, ignore this.) Double-click the 'setup.exe' file or similar. Follow the setup instructions, pressing 'OK' and 'Next' as needed. If you are instructed to restart your computer, do so and log in again.
5. Click 'Start,' then 'Control Panel.' Click 'Mouse' or 'Synaptics Touchpad.' Depending upon your laptop, the settings will appear in a different location. Elantech driver settings are under the 'Pointers' tab, Synaptics is under the 'Device Settings' tab. Find the driver settings tab for your laptop's touchpad.
6. Adjust the middle-click preferences to your liking. Generally, you're given three options: left-click plus right-click to middle-click; tap two fingers in the touch area to middle-click (newer laptops only,) or disable either function. Click 'OK' or 'Apply' when you're finished.
