How to Add YouTube to the PS3 Media Server
1. Open your computer's Web browser and navigate to github.com/chocolateboy. Click the 'pmsencoder' link, followed by the 'Downloads' button. Click the 'pmsencoder-1.5.7.jar' link under the Installation menu to download the .jar file.
2. Click the 'Start' button and select the 'Computer' option. Double-click on the computer's hard drive icon, followed by the 'Program Files' folder icon. Double-click the 'PS3 Media Server' folder icon, followed by the 'Plugins' folder icon.
3. Drag the .jar file you downloaded in Step 1 into the Plugins folder.
4. Click the 'Start' button and select the 'Computer' option. Double-click on the computer's hard drive icon, followed by the 'Users' icon. Double-click on your user icon, followed by the 'AppData' folder. Double-click the 'Roaming' folder, followed by the 'PMS' folder.
5. Double-click the 'pms.conf' file to open the file in Notepad. Locate the section of code that reads 'engines = mencoder, avsmencoder, tsmuxer, mplayeraudio, ffmpegaudio, tsmuxeraudio, vlcvideo, mencoderwebvideo, mplayervideodump, mplayerwebaudio, vlcaudio, ffmpegdvrmsremux.'
6. Add 'pmsencoder' to the list of engines. The code should now look like this:'engines = pmsencoder, mencoder, avsmencoder, tsmuxer, mplayeraudio, ffmpegaudio, tsmuxeraudio, vlcvideo, mencoderwebvideo, mplayervideodump, mplayerwebaudio, vlcaudio, ffmpegdvrmsremux.'
7. Click the 'File' menu and select the 'Save' option to save the .conf file. Now the plugin is installed and PS3 Media Server application can stream YouTube playlists to your console.
