Application Failure Firefox.exe in Msvcr80.dll

Cause
Browser errors involving msvcr80.dll are related to your Java installation. These errors may occur when the website you are visiting uses Java in its Web pages. If your Java build is out of date or corrupt, your browser will throw this error and the Web page may crash. Firefox 3 was especially susceptible to this error.
Significance
If your msvcr80.dll file is missing or corrupt and your Firefox browser crashes as it attempts to load a Web page containing Java code, it could create an annoying loop. When you relaunch Firefox, it will attempt to reload the page that caused the problem, and Firefox will crash again. You can break out of this frustrating loop by configuring Firefox to not attempt to recover your previous session or by quickly closing the tab with the problem page before it loads and executes the Java code.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, download the most recent version of Java from the Oracle website. The downloaded file will launch a guided installer. To update Java, you must close all Web browsers running on your computer. After the upgrade is complete, you should be able to open any page that uses Java without errors.
Considerations
When you download a new version of Java, the old version may remain on your system. These outdated versions may pose security risks and you should uninstall them as soon as possible. Remove older versions of Java by opening the Windows Control Panel and accessing the 'Add/Remove Programs' screen. Upgrading Firefox from version 3 to the most recent release – Firefox 9 as of February 2012 – can also help resolve Java errors.
