Any Tools to Fix the Dwwin.exe Error
Registry Disable
One of the easiest way to fix the Dwwin.exe error is to disable the exe file from starting automatically in the registry. To do this, click on the 'Start' icon. Type 'regedit' in the 'Run' box. Locate the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AeDebug and change the 'Auto' value in the right pane to '0.' Restart the computer, and you shouldn't get the error any longer.
Antivirus Tools
As a Kaspersky Anti-Virus user, you may get a Dwwin.exe message at the computer startup. This is caused by a compatibility issue. Click on the Kaspersky antivirus icon and select 'Settings.' Click on 'Protection' and choose 'Compatibility mode for programs using self-protection methods.' Reboot the machine to see if the error message is gone.
System File Checking
If you are getting an error message like 'wwin.exe -- DLL Initialization Failed' when you want to shut down the machine, restart the machine to run a system file checker. Log in as the Administrator and click 'Start' and 'Run.' Type 'sfc/scannow' and click 'OK.' Wait for the scan to complete and restart the computer. Shut down the computer again to see if the error message is gone.
Internet Settings
An old installed Acrobat Reader Version 7 also causes the Dwwin error. Files from the old Acrobat reader interfere with the Dr Watson program causing the error at computer shut down. To solve this issue update to the latest Acrobat Reader version 10 or uninstall the old version 7 completely. You can also use the Internet preference tool to eliminate it from being used in the browser. Open the Acrobat reader on the computer and select 'Edit' and 'Preferences.' Click on 'Internet' and uncheck the box that says 'Display PDF in browser.' Click 'OK' to finish.
