A Slow Lexmark Pro200
1. Shut down the Lexmark S500 printer, and wait for it to power down completely. Shut down the computer attached to the printer and leave both units off for a few minutes. Power up the printer first and wait for it to come to a ready state. Then power on the computer. Power cycling both the computer and the S500 printer clears the memory and can improve printing performance.
2. Check the tightness of the cable running between the computer and the S500 printer. Communication and speed can be affected if the cable is not properly seated, or if it has worked itself loose. Also ensure there is sufficient play in the cable. If the cable is stretched too tight speed can be impacted as well.
3. Download and install a new driver for the Lexmark Pro 200 S500 printer. Check the website often for updated drivers for your operating system. An outdated or corrupt printer driver can cause many problems with the S500, including a slow print speed.
4. Check the size of the documents you are sending to the S500. If you have a very large document it could be eating up all the available memory in the printer and slowing things down. You can alleviate this problem by sending large jobs in sections instead of all at once.
