How to Use the Recycle Bin in Windows 7

1. Right click on your desktop and select 'Personalize'. This will launch the Appearance and Personalization screen in Windows 7.

Select the 'Change desktop icons' link.

Choose the 'Recycle Bin' check box from the Desktop Icons tab. Click 'OK' and this will place the Recycle Bin on your desktop.
4. Delete files by dragging them to the Recycle Bin icon. You can also right click on files and choose 'Delete.'

Double click on the Recycle Bin to access your trash. Deleted items can be recovered by right clicking on the file and choosing 'Restore.' If you are running out of space, you can empty the Recycle Bin by clicking 'Empty the Recycle Bin' or by right clicking on the Recycle Bin on your desktop and choosing 'Empty Recycle Bin.'

You can customized the Recycle Bin by right clicking the icon on your desktop and choosing 'Properties.' You have the ability to change the size of your Recycle Bin or to have files automatically deleted and not saved in the Recycle Bin.
