How to Turn on a PC Touch Screen


Turn On Touch Screen in Windows 7
1. Ensure your monitor is plugged into a power source, such as a wall outlet or surge protector.
2. Press the power button, which will be marked with a circle that has a line from the center upwards. If your PC is turned on, the monitor will boot to the desktop. If not, continue to step 3.
3. Power on your PC and let it boot into your Windows 7 operating system.
4. Open your Start menu and type 'Touch' into the search bar. This will show a variety of options, including the 'Pen and Touch' options. Double-click it to open the 'Pen and Touch' window.
5. Check the boxes next to the 'Use your finger as an input device' and, if preferred, check the 'Enable multi-touch gestures and inking' box as well.
6. Click 'Apply' to set the options and click 'OK' to exit the window.

7. Turn on your PC and wait for it to boot into Windows Vista.
8. Open your Start Menu and click the 'Control Panel' option to open the 'Control Panel' window.
9. Click 'Classic View' from the list of options on the left-hand sidebar. If your Control Panel window is already in classic view, proceed to the next step.
10. Double-click the 'Programs and Features' icon to open the list of programs that are on your PC.
11. Click the 'Turn Windows Features On or Off' link on the left-hand sidebar to open the 'Windows Features' window. It will have a multi-colored shield next to it.
12. Check the box next to 'Tablet PC Optional Components' and click 'OK' to have Windows Vista activate the touch screen options. When prompted, reset your PC to complete the setup.
