What Causes Script Errors When You Connect to Internet Explorer Running Windows Vista?
Identification
An Internet Explorer script error is a display error that occurs when the Web browser has compatibility issues with website scripts written in JavaScript or VBScript code. Script error messages, though their exact language may vary, basically tell you that a website cannot be displayed properly. Often, a pop-up window will notify you of this while you are surfing on a Web page.
Causes
Often, the root causes of an Internet Explorer script error is not the user's fault. Instead, they are usually caused by a coding error on a Web page. In this instance, script errors cannot be fixed unless the developers of the Web page fix the code. However, there are some cases in which script errors may be caused by browser settings. These script errors can be addressed.
Altering Script Settings
You can try to address a script error by accessing Internet Explorer's Internet Options menu from the 'Tools' option in the Web browser's task bar. Under the Advanced tab in the Internet Options menu, users can either click the 'Disable Script Debugging' option or, in later versions of Internet Explorer, choose the 'Display a Notification About Every Script Error' option.
Unblocking Scripting Settings and Removing Temporary Files
You can also try to unblock Active Scripting, ActiveX and Java settings in the browser by accessing the Internet Options menu and clicking 'Default Level' under the Security tab. If this does not solve the issue, you can try deleting your temporary Internet files. This can be accomplished on the Internet Options menu as well.
