How to Run Config for Startup Options in a Windows Computer
1. Open the System Configuration Utility. Click on the 'Start' button, select 'Run' and type 'msconfig' without quotation marks in the task box. In Windows 7 and Vista, click on the 'Start' orb and type 'msconfig' without the quotation marks in the search box.
2. Click the 'Startup' tab in the System Configuration dialog box.
3. Choose your startup options. A check box precedes each program in the 'Startup Items' list. Items with a check mark will automatically load at startup. Click on the check box to unselect items you do not want to load at startup. Click 'Apply' and close the dialog box.
4. Restart the computer when prompted. You may see a pop-up dialog box informing you that your system is running in 'Selective Startup' mode. Click the check box next to 'Do not show this message again.'
