How to Remove the 'Generic Host Process for Win32 Services' Error

1. Open the Web browser and go to the 'Update for Windows XP (KB894391)' Web page on the Microsoft website. (See Resources.)
2. Click the 'Download' button.
3. Select the option to run the installation file directly from the Web browser, or save it to a location on the hard drive, such as C:\Temp, and run it from there.
4. The files will extract to a temporary folder and an installation wizard will appear. Follow the prompts in the wizard to install the update.
5. Reboot the computer.
