How to Interpret Blue Screen Error Report Codes


Disabling Automatic Reboot For Windows XP
1. Right-click 'My Computer' and click 'Properties.'
2. Go to the 'Advanced' tab and click 'Settings' under 'Startup and Recovery.'
3. Clear the check mark for 'Automatically restart' under 'System failure.'
4. Click 'OK' to close.

5. Click 'Start, right-click 'Computer and click 'Properties.'
6. Click 'Advanced system settings' on the the left-hand pane.
7. Click 'Settings' under 'Startup and Recovery.'
8. Clear the check mark for 'Automatically restart' under 'System failure.'
9. Click 'OK' to close.
Interpreting Error Codes
10. Take note of the error code that comes up when the BSOD happens.
11. Restart the computer manually, if the BSOD happens only intermittently, or go to another computer to access the Internet.
12. Check the links under 'Resources' for the different error codes for the blue screen.
