How to Fix the Brightness on a Webcam

Adjust Brightness Settings
1. Click on the 'Start' button and select 'All Programs.' Select 'Windows Messenger' from the list of programs.
2. Enter your Hotmail email address and password then select 'Sign In.'
3. Click on 'Tools' and select 'Set Up Audio and Video.'
4. Click on 'Next' to go to the Webcam settings. Click on the 'Webcam Settings' button.
5. Locate the brightness control slider. Move the slider left or right to increase or decrease your brightness until it fixes the problem and makes the Webcam clear.
Reinstall Webcam Driver
6. Click on the 'Start' button on your desktop toolbar and select 'Control Panel.'
7. Click on 'Hardware and Sound' then select 'Device Manager.'
8. Locate 'Imaging Device' and right-click on your Webcam.
9. Select 'Update Driver Software.' Click on 'Next.'
10. Select 'Search automatically for updated driver software.' Your computer will then search your files and the Internet to find and install the driver. If you already have the latest version of the driver it will reinstall it on your computer. Click on the 'Finish' button. Load up your Webcam and the brightness should be fixed.
