How to Erase Memory on Windows XP
1. Open the Create Shortcut wizard. Right-click on your desktop and select New > Shortcut.
2. Type the location for the shortcut. Character for character, type '%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks' into the box, then click 'Next.'
3. Type a name for the shortcut. This plays no part in the memory erase process, so simply name it something convenient for you to remember, such as 'Erase Memory.' Click 'Finish.'
4. Double-click on your new shortcut. The memory erase command will now initiate, leaving your computer fresh and clean, just as if you had restarted it.
