How to Disable Windows Backup


Windows 7
1. Click on the Start menu, then click 'Control Panel.'
2. Click on 'Backup and Restore.'
3. Click the link that says 'Turn off schedule,' located on the left side of the menu.
Windows Vista
4. Click on the Start menu and type 'taskschd.msc' into the box located right above the 'Start' button. Press 'Enter' to load the Task Scheduler Tool.
5. Type in the Administrator password (if you have set one).
6. Click on 'Task Scheduler Library' to expand it.
7. Click on 'Microsoft,' then 'Windows', then 'WindowsBackup.'
8. Right-click on 'AutomaticBackup' and select 'Disable.'
Windows XP
9. Click on 'Start,' then 'Control Panel,' then 'Scheduled Tasks.'
10. Right-click on 'Backup' and select 'Properties.'
11. Click the 'General' tab and uncheck the box next to 'Enabled.'
