How Do I Stop the Auto
Entering the Ease of Access Center
Close any open programs or files. Click 'Start,' then 'Control Panel.' Click on the 'Ease of Access' icon. The Ease of Access Center application will open. Your laptop's touchpad/mouse is managed through this application. You can also change and select different mouse pointer icons and change other settings related to your laptop's touchpad/mouse.
Disabling Auto-Select
Click on the link 'Make the mouse easier to use.' Click on the check box next to the wording 'Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse' to deselect this option and turn Auto-Select off. Click 'Apply,' then 'OK' to close the Ease of Access Center and return to your computer's 'Desktop.' Auto-Select is now disabled and you must now actually click on the folder or file you would like to open.
Follow-Up
To change your laptop's touchpad/mouse sensitivity, click 'Start,' 'Control Panel.' Click on the 'Mouse' icon. Move the sensitivity meter to 'Less' or 'More.' Note, your laptop may also have its own touchpad control located within your laptop's configuration folder.
