How to Setup Your Speakers in Vista or 7


1. Open the Start menu, then click 'Control Panel.'
2. Click the 'View By' menu in the upper-right corner of the window in Windows 7, then select 'Small Icons.' In Windows Vista, click 'Classic View' on the left side of the window.
3. Double-click the 'Sound' icon.
4. Click the 'Playback' tab at the top of the window.
5. Select 'Speakers,' then click the 'Configure' button. If you have more than one item labeled 'Speakers' on the left, select the active one, indicated by a green checkmark.
6. Click the number of audio channels in your speaker configuration, then click 'Next.'
7. Click the checkbox next to the speakers in your setup that play the full range of sound, such as 'Front Left and Right.' Click 'Next.'
8. Click 'Finish.'
9. Click 'OK.'
