How to Replace Windows 7 With Ubuntu

1. Download the Ubuntu installation ISO file from the Ubuntu website, and burn the image file to a CD. The resulting CD is the Ubuntu LiveCD. Ubuntu may be run from the LiveCD, or you may install Unbuntu to the computer using the disk.
2. Insert the Ubuntu LiveCD into the computer and reboot the machine. The computer will boot from the LiveCD.
3. Click 'Install Ubuntu' on the LiveCD main screen. The installation routine will begin. The first prompt will ask if you would like to install Ubuntu to the entire hard drive or to a partition on the hard drive. To replace Windows 7, choose to install on the entire hard drive and click 'Forward.'
4. Type your city and state to determine your time zone and location. Click 'Forward.'
5. Type a user name and password for the Ubuntu account. Confirm the password and click 'Forward.' The Ubuntu installation routine will continue until Ubuntu is installed. A dialog box will appear to alert you to reboot the computer.
6. Click 'Reboot the Computer.' The computer will boot up, and the Ubuntu boot menu will appear. Click the first entry to start Ubuntu.
