How to Password Protect a Windows 7 Library


1. Navigate to the folder you want to lock down.
2. Right-click this folder and choose 'Properties.' Click 'Security.'
3. Choose a group or specific user to alter permissions for. Click 'Edit.'
4. Check 'Deny' in all of the boxes on this screen. Click 'Apply' and 'OK.' Repeat this process with any additional user who needs denied access to your information, as permissions are set on a user-by-user or group-by-group basis. The user will have no access to this folder at all unless he can provide the administrative password for the computer.
