How to Enable Taskbar Window Pop
1. Position the mouse pointer over an open area of the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.
2. Right-click to open the context menu for the taskbar, and then click 'Properties.'
3. Place a check in the box labeled 'Use Aero Peek to preview the desktop,' and then click 'OK.' Windows 7 should now display a preview window each time you hover the mouse pointer over a taskbar button. If it does not, this feature may be disabled in the Windows registry. Continue to the next step.
4. Open the Start menu. Type 'regedit' in the search field at the bottom of the menu, and press 'Enter' to open the registry editor.
5. Open the 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER,' 'Software,' 'Microsoft,' 'Windows,' 'CurrentVersion,' 'Policies' and 'Explorer' folders on the left side of the window. Click the 'Explorer' folder to select it.
6. Double-click 'TaskbarNoThumbnail' on the right side of the window.
7. Change the number under 'Value Data' from '1' to '0' and click 'OK.'
8. Close the registry editor and restart the computer. After restarting, Windows 7 displays a preview window when you hover the mouse pointer over a taskbar button.
