How to Change the Default Media Player in Windows 7
Set Default Programs
1. Click on the 'Start' button.
2. Click 'Default Programs.'
3. Click 'Set your default programs.'
4. Click the media player you want to set as the default.
5. Click 'Set this program as default.'
6. Click 'OK.' If your desired media player does not appear in the Set Default Programs menu, proceed to the next section.
Change File Associations
7. Click on the 'Start' button.
8. Click 'Default Programs.'
9. Click 'Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program.'
10. Click on a file type associated with your previous media player to highlight it. You can determine the current default program for a file type by checking the column titled 'Current Default.' Click 'Change Program.'
11. Click 'Browse.' Select your desired media player from the list. Click 'OK.' Click 'OK' again to change the default media player for that particular file type. Repeat these steps for each file type associated with your previous media player. Click 'Close' in the file associations window when finished.
